Changes to business rates for non-domestic properties

Changes to business rates for non-domestic properties

Usually every five years the government adjusts the value of business rates for commercial properties to reflect changes in the property market. From 1 April 2017 all commercial properties will be given a new rateable value.

If you don’t agree with the value set by the Valuation Office Agency (VOA), you may have grounds for appealing their decision: business rate appeals.

Please note: If you think you’ve overpaid on business rates for the current 2010 rating list then lodge an appeal with the VOA before the 31 March 2017 deadline. Don’t miss out on a potential refund.
