Nick Lunn’s company, NGL Golf Consultancy Limited, has been running corporate golf events at some of the finest courses for over 40 years. Events range from private golf days for clients’ customers to large scale national corporate tournaments. From humble beginnings, NGL Golf Consultancy Limited has grown to become one of the best known businesses in the golf events sector. Nick also runs a secondary business, Boston Golf Tee Company, selling personalised golf accessories like tees, ball markers, pencils and a variety of golf themed packaging.
Nick started NGL Golf Consultancy Limited on his own and to begin with managed all aspects of the business, juggling the different roles before recruiting his team which now numbers 14. Operating in the leisure industry, the business has weathered three recessions. Wise & Co was appointed by Nick in 2009 in the midst of the most recent financial collapse.
The Wise & Co team began working with Nick during one of the most challenging times of the business’ history. The financial crash meant that clients literally stopped spending money on corporate events overnight. As the recession bit, NGL Golf Consultancy experienced a profit dip. These were tough trading times and Wise & Co provided Nick with sensible commercial advice and support to help him ride the storm. Together Wise & Co and Nick started by taking an overall look at the business making cost savings where possible, tightening up certain areas, and ensuring that it was as tax efficient as possible.
Having worked with Nick and his team for almost 10 years, Wise & Co has been on hand to offer Nick guidance and support as an integral part of the NGL team. Wise & Co has acted as a sounding board, sharing ideas and possible approaches to various scenarios. The advice that Wise & Co provides is highly commercial as well as technical because sometimes it’s the practical and sensible option that outweighs everything else.

Having survived the recession Wise & Co continues to advise NGL Golf Consultancy Limited and, in their own words, to look after Nick the person because at the end of the day the business is central to all his personal affairs.
Visits to our offices are now limited to the delivery and collection of records only.
Our switchboard is open but to safeguard our staff and to comply with Government COVID restrictions we are operating with minimal staff working in the office and the remainder working from home.
