Changing your accountant

Some people will tell you that changing accountant is fraught with difficulty and can even lead to a tax investigation. This is simply not true. The process is, in fact, very simple.

All you need to do is advise your existing accountant in writing that you have decided to move to a new practice, and copy Wise & Co. in on the letter.

The requirements and responsibilities of your existing accountant are then governed by the Institute's ‘Guide to Professional Ethics'. They will respond to our professional enquiry to take on your engagement and will provide us with the information necessary to ensure a proper handover.
